Organically cultivated cotton and comes from suppliers who are inspected and certified as part of the Control Union Certification program. This organization has established criteria for organic production according two certification programmes, GOTS or Organic Exchange Certification. Organic cotton is cotton grown without any chemical fertilizers or pesticides which is better for human health as well as nature. The organic cotton is different from conventional cotton in many respects, and the difference starts at the fiber stage.
By switching from disposable pads to cloth pads, you no longer need to use the overload of plastics, chemicals and perfumes that are not good for your health. Even where these chemicals are deemed safe on their own, the toxic cocktail when combined is best avoided. It is estimated that in a lifetime, each woman uses between 12,000 and 16,000 single use pads or tampons, that will take forever to decompose, and that are too often individually wrapped in more plastic.
Imse Vimse was created 30 years ago by Marie Walleberg in Sweden after she discovered her baby daughter’s nappy rash vanished instantly when using cloth nappies, yet these were difficult to find. Imse Vimse filled the void, and since then have kept to their vision that sustainable consumption should be the norm, not the exception.
