EDEN DAYS Shave Shed aftershave balm

Description

The oils in this 100% natural (64% organic) aftershave were slowly macerated with organic Redbush and Aloe Vera. Eight quality oils and butter were then whipped to give you an aftershave balm that is great for preventing rash and calming sensitive skin after shaving. Suitable for all skin types, flaky scalp, dry feet and hands, and to alleviate itchiness.

This balm can be used as a pre-shave, aftershave, or all over body balm.  It is great for itchy skin, dry scalp, or as a foot balm. It also takes the sting out of insect bites! We recommend using together with the Eden Days Shave Shed Soap made with bentonite clay, giving a great slip for shaving.

The essential oil blend of Cedarwood, Bergamot, and Sandalwood has astringent and antiseptic properties. It also contributes to this balm’s “masculine” scent.

All ingredients are vegan friendly, palm oil free, sustainably sourced and biodegradable. The full list of ingredients is listed under the Production Tab. Here are the properties of the key ingredients:

Organic Redbush
The herb is renowned for its remarkable high contents of iron, zinc, copper, magnesium, vitamins a natural alpha hydroxy acid (AHAs) & antioxidant. The high levels of flavonoids in rooibos help in preventing skin disorders such as eczema and acne. It also has surprising anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic properties. This fights a variety of bacterial infections on the skin and is also preventative in it occurring again.
A key factor in the production of healthy skin-producing cells is the enzyme called superoxide dismutase. This enzyme is found in abundance in Redbush and helps fights wrinkles by neutralizing the free radicals. It is also good to know that published studies have shown that rooibos in skin products is effective in preventing precancerous skin cells from replicating.

Cedarwood Essential Oil
This oil as an astringent is intensely antibacterial warding off infection, irritation, and blemishes caused by an overgrowth of bacteria. It is good at curing the inflammation that leads to irritating skin issues. It’s antiseptic properties that have a calming effect on bumps, pimples, or wounds and it is also known to tighten the skin!

Bergamot Essential Oil
Bergamot is an astringent, has antibacterial properties and is a natural cleanser, its purpose in this soap is to help remove dirt and impurities. It also aids in healing scars, minimise marks and helps to unclog pores.

Sandalwood Essential Oil
Sandalwood oil is known to give you a bright, clean, and flawless skin, it also prevents skin aging. Regular use of sandalwood reduces lines and scars and can also cure skin infections and itching. As in Cedarwood oil, it too contains antiseptic and antimicrobial properties that help destroy bacteria and germs.
As a well-known astringent, sandalwood essential oil is very useful in getting rid of overly oily skin by tightening large pores and controlling excess sebum secretion. It softens skin by increasing its ability to retain moisture.
