Compostable coffee capsules compatible with Nespresso coffee machines manufactured after 2010. 100% made of compostable bio-plastic (plant-based plastic). For the pleasure of quality coffee without the waste.

Nespresso machines came along and meant that suddenly you could have a decent espresso in your own home for a fraction of the price of one in a shop in minutes. However, convenience came at a price. Strong and light, aluminium was the perfect material to make capsules out of, and could be transported all over the world, retaining the flavour of the ground coffee inside. The downside was the environmental impact.

Although aluminium is recyclable in theory, in practice many coffee capsules end up in landfill, where they can take hundreds of years to break down. Shop these compostable coffee capsules and keep drinking fantastic quality coffee whilst protecting the world from more unnecessary plastic waste.

Coffee pods can’t be recycled easily because they are often made of a mixture of plastic and aluminium, combined with the dregs of organic waste sitting at the bottom of the pod. Two billion cups of coffee are drunk around the world every day. Most capsules are made of virgin aluminium, meaning they are created from new raw material which has been extracted from the earth and has undergone a process of refinement and electrolysis.
