FSC certified sustainable moso bamboo handle (compostable). This certification includes a high working conditions requirement in the place of manufacture.
PA free Nylon-6 bristles (the most biodegradable type of nylon on the market). Note that we have researched toothbrushes with natural bristles, however they do not currently reach minimum standard requirements and their use is not recommended by dentists.
Care and disposal
Bamboo is a material that will keep best when stored dry, which is why enclosed toothbrush cups that may collect water are not recommended. We advise that you keep your toothbrush in a open-air toothbrush holder or other dry area.
Bamboo is a natural material that will change appearance over time. The top portion of the bamboo which goes into your mouth may appear lighter and faded over time, which is normal and will not affect your brushing experience. Please reuse or compost the handle!
The bristles and handle should be disassembled for proper disposal, using a pair of pliers to remove the bristles from the head of the toothbrush. Doing so will remove a small metal staple that is used to clamp the bristles to the handle. Please dispose of the bristles in your household waste or contact your local recycling facility to see if there’s a solution for recycling the bristles.

The Vegan Society created the word ‘vegan’ in 1944 – their Trademark is the authentic international vegan standard. It guarantees that the manufacture and/or development of a product, and where applicable its ingredients, do not involve, or have involved, the use of any animal product, by-product or derivative or the testing of any sort on animals conducted at the initiative of the company or on its behalf, or by parties over whom the company has effective control.
Plastic toothbrushes never biodegrade. It is estimated that 3.6 billion plastic toothbrushes are used worldwide every year, with the average person using 300 in their lifetime. Roughly 80 per cent of these end up in the sea, where they pose a risk to marine life and habitats. Each toothbrush takes up to a thousand years to decompose. We think that by 2050 there will be a higher volume of plastic in the oceans than fish.
Humble Brush was funded in 2013 in Sweden to offer change in the ways we produce and consume, and stop depleting natural resources and filling up the oceans with used products. The Humble team believe that those of us who are lucky enough to be born in an affluent part of the world have a duty to support less fortunate communities. They have created oral care products that improve lifestyle choices and habits, fight plastic ocean crime, are made with eco-friendly manufacturing, packaging and designed for disposal at the lowest possible environmental footprint. Humble Brush also administer the Humble Smile Foundation, which delivers professional and sustainable healthcare projects where they are most needed around the world, funded directly by your Humble purchase.
